Catching my breath

I am officially the worst blogger ever. Okay, maybe not the absolute worst… but pretty close. I just realized that I haven’t written a post since March, and that’s just straight up awful.
So, rather than containing some brilliant insight to my views on life, this is a catch-up post.
March was a busy month, nearly consumed by the Michigan FFA State Convention. I served as the Assistant Director, and will be the State Convention Director for 2012 and 2013. A great new group of SOs were elected, and I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with them.
April and May went by far too quickly as the school year wrapped up. I attended my first Jackpot Hog show of the year May 14th, and followed it with five more in a six week span – exhausting, but possible with the help and support of my family and Kevin.
June – hog shows, work, class, and more shows. We are currently preparing to head to Illinois next week for the CPS Summertype and Team Purebred Jr. National. I’m PUMPED for this, as I also just found out today that one Tiffany Rogers will also be in Springfield that week, presenting an NLCSO to some State Officer teams. I’m hoping that our free time matches up so I can see her.
So that’s the monthly breakdown thus far.
July looks promising – especially since I’m going to be published! The blog post that I wrote for the Michigan Ag Council a while back ran in the opinion section of the Michigan Farm Bureau paper, and was well enough received that I entered it in a intercollegiate writing contest. Well… it won! My article was selected to appear in the July issue of Drive magazine, a publication intended for youth that are involved in the livestock industry.
Anyway, the last few months have been a whirlwind, but I’m catching up, and I swear I’ll blog again soon!
